Cuts from documentary 'How Britain Votes', in the context of the 1950 Election - Reel 3.

Oxford by-election. Inside Labour Party candidate Mr Kersland-Lewis' committee room we see several shots of local agent seated at table, writing and checking leaflets in filing baskets. Pan along the baskets. Mr Kersland-Lewis comes into room and shakes hands with agent. They talk and walk over to a map on the wall where the agent indicates various points. Poster on wall has a picture of Kersland-Lewis and 'The Man For Oxford - Lewis'.

C/U of a pile of Kersland-Lewis' election leaflets as a hand turns the pages of some of them and picks them up. M/S of middle-aged woman and others folding election addresses and placing them in envelopes. General activity in the committee room - envelope stuffing, people typing letters, checking reports and so on. M/S of Canvas Officer at work at a table in the room; another man sits beside him.
