Titles read: "GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL FILM - Some folk are always in HOT WATER".

Montage of shots of people surrounded by steam washing their faces with hot water. Intertitle warns that running water wastes fuel. Several shots of water running from taps into sinks as people wash plates, their hands, shaving brushes under them. Water running down a plug hole.

Quick shots of a man in a bath (seen from behind) and titles show us we should not be having baths with the water up to our necks, but only up to our waists, and should take our baths in the evening - a woman in a floral house coat turns on her bath taps.

We are also told not to force our boilers and are shown the correct way to poke it and keep the front shut properly. Title tells us to wrap up our pipes; we see someone wrapping some hairy fabric around water pipes. Last title tells us to save fuel - coal, coke, gas, electricity, fuel oil and paraffin for the war effort (? timecode obscures titles on vhs copy).
