MS Pan former US President Herbert Hoover entering Press conference on his 87th birthday in his New York apartment. MS Hoover speaking and answering questions from Press. He gives his opinion on the Berlin Crisis, the space race and defend America's Youth. MS Hoover speaking: "President Kennedy's courageous statement as to Berlin should carry conviction to the Russians. As long as the Russians are willing to negotiate over all this question, there is hope of a solution and that hope arises because of the background behind any negotiations over Berlin. The Russians no more want a nuclear war than we do." The commentary introduces Hoover's answer to a question on space race expenditure, Hoover says that the US doesn't need to worry about getting a man on the moon but the defence space work of putting satellites in space is important. Asked by a reporter for his opinion of President Kennedy's performance so far, Hoover replies: " I am not going to answer any political question. I have retired into a monastery where there is no politics." Laughter.
