  • A visitor to the site, formerly stationed on HMS Glamorgan, has contacted us to say that this clip is not actually the HMS Glamorgan. Instead it is a MkI County Class destroyer (the Glamorgan was a MkII - the easily identifiable give away is the radar).

Does anyone know which ship this is?

  • This could well be the first of the class, HMS Devonshire. I joined Devonshire July 1966 and left her February 1968. During this time, we certainly did a live Seaslug firing on the missile range off Aberporth.

Pity someone couldn't do some enhancement of the broadside view and get the pennant number. D.02 would confirm it as Devonshire.
