The Dorothy Kerin Home of Healing, Burrswood nr. Tunbridge Wells UK. The dignified lady in a dark tailored suit left of frame at the start of the film holding the door is Princess Marina Chavchavadze of Georgia, Dorothy Kerin\'s close friend and assistant in the running of the establishment until her death in 1994. Born in 1905 her mother was a lady in waiting to the Tsarina Alexandra and Marina was born in a royal palace in St Petersburg where she played with the tragic haemophiliac Tsareavitch Alexei and the younger of his sisters in the royal nursery. Her father prince Alexandre was executed by the Bolsheviks in 1930 but her mother and brothers had moved to London during the 1st World War to escape the Russian Revolution. There are very few photographs of this enigmatic and very private lady and this is possibly the only film of her, just a few frames. I was fortunate enough to have known her in the late 1960s when she told me a little of her early life.
