Unused / unissued material - no paperwork - dates unclear or unknown. 1937?

Various shots of Hawker Fury biplanes taking off and flying overhead. Some of the aircraft perform acrobatics / aerobatics over the airfield. The planes have markings of the RAF (Royal Air Force).

N.B. Unsure of exact designation of plane - any suggestions gratefully received.

The planes seen here are, as the cataloguer surmises, RAF aircraft.

They are all Hawker Fury models.

  2. jamied says

Identifiable during the clip are Hawker Fury serial number K3740, and also number K2048.

    Thanks for the confirmation.

The aircraft 00.02 - 00.03 are Gloster Gauntlets. Frame 00.07 foreground is a Hawker Fury fighter number K2048 from Number 1 Fighter squadron, the film must be later than 1934 as the fury has no rudder tricolour flash which wasn\'t used after then, in the bachground is a Supermarine Walrus anphibian. from 00.50 onward a Hawker Hind light bomber configured as an advanced trainer is filmed. The year is probably between 1935 and 1938.
