Titles read: "HALF A SHIP LAUNCHED".

    Location of events unknown.

A woman with a scarf in her hair - turban-style - smashes half a bottle of wine against half a ship to launch it at an unidentified shipyard. The forepart of a tanker moves down the slipway and into the water. Commentator explains that a 12 thousand ton tanker struck a mine and was severely damaged. The forepart sank, but the after-end was saved.

Several shots show the two parts of the ship being brought slowly together. Men standing on both sections watch the progress.
