M/S of a mid 1950s contemporary Mercedes with a vintage car ("an old crock") coming out of a garage behind it. According to the narrator this is going to be a revolutionary experiment - using the motor car for troop transport. Presumably this is a re-enactment of the first transport of troops by car...

  • "M/S of a mid 1950s contemporary Mercedes" - it's a Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing, (Reg. No. PLB 23, which in fact was occasionally driven in the '50s by Stirling Moss).

    "A guardsman jumps out of one of the cars" - the vehicle is a 1904 Star, (Reg. No. AF 3870).

    "A vintage London bus is seen" - it's an AEC B-type, Reg. No. LA 9918. (This vehicle has been preserved, and is on show at the London Transport Museum).

    The car seen at 00:11, (Reg, No. D 1590), is a 1904 Panhard-Levassor Tonneau.
