The aircraft is a Gloster Meteor.
Footage of this even with a commentary can be seen in clip 1420.06.
Clarifying my earlier comment, "Gloucester Meteor" in the title should read Gloster Meteor.

It's odd that so often the titles for these spell Gloster as "Gloucester" - though in this particular case the fact it was filmed in Gloucester might be adding to the confusion.
The cataloguer clearly knew how to spell Gloster Meteor (it's in the first line "CU Gloster Meteor plane"). So we can only assume that this was how the title was written by Pathe staff back when the footage was filmed as our cataloguers rarely changed the original titles.
