    M/S of man operating factory machinery. C/U of big coil of steel wire. Extreme C/U of machine that cuts wire to rods. A woman's hand picks up a bunch. A man takes bundle of rods out of furnace. He uses a tool to roll them cool.

    Various shots man using a machine that smoothes the hole end of needles. General shot of factory floor. Extreme C/U of machine that punches holes in needles. Various shots of man using machine to sharpen end of needles. Lots of sparks fly as needles touch rotating stone cylinder.

    Various shots of needles being 'tempered' in a vat of oil. Next the needles are polished in bundles between giant rollers. C/U of man shaking large tray full of needled - eventually needles pack together in neat piles. Various shots of woman using machine that packs needles in rows on pieces of card to be sold - job looks very monotonous!
