    Full title reads: "Funeral of Alderman Edward Hewitson, Mayor of Smethwick".

    West Midlands.

    Intertitle reads: "Cortege Leaving House".

    The coffin of the Mayor is carried between ranks of Smethwick firemen. MS the coffin is loaded onto a horse drawn hearse. MS widow and other mourners come out of the house.

    Intertitle reads: "Passing Windsor Theatre and Company Office".

    Shots of funeral procession passing along street in town. Small groups of people stand on roadside to pay their respects.

    Intertitle reads: "At Smethwick Council House. Employees join procession."

    Ext Smethwick Council House. Men and women walk with funeral cortege. Several wear black arm bands. Many cars drive past in procession.

    Intertitle reads: "At Holy Trinity Church".

    The coffin is brought into Church. The path is lined with mourners.

    N.B. Item found in Unidentified Gazettes reel. Presumably from 1930s Gazettes.
