"Art Goebel" is Arthur C Goebel.
"Goebel's aircraft not seen clearly, could be 'Woolaroc'" - it is indeed Woolaroc, (despite the title card saying Woolaroo).
The event they're taking part in is the Dole Air Race (AKA Dole Race, AKA Dole Derby), held in August 1927.
The event was filled with tragedy - 10 deaths occurred either before, during, or after the race, and six airplanes were lost, leaving just 2 finishers from 8 starters.
"View of a monoplane, the 'Aloha" - it's a Breese-Wilde 5 monoplane.
Goebel's aircraft, "Woolaroc', is a Travel Air 5000.
Seen alongside Goebel at 01:52 is his navigator William V Davis Jr.
