Great L/S of a line of boats moving through blue Mediterranean water with a line of water skiers following. A boat filled with people is seen in the background. This looks like a water skiing show watched from the boat rather then from the shore. In fact, this is welcoming show for the holiday makers coming to the island of Corfu, one of the most beautiful Greek islands, placed between Greece and Italy.
As the boat with the new tourists approaches the island, audience sees the crowd on the quay dressed in sarongs with flowers around their necks, waving - typical South Pacific (Hawaiian) welcome. The funny thing is that the welcome is organised by the fellow tourists, not the Greek population of the island. Women are greeted with a kiss from men and men are greeted with a kiss from women - a good laugh. A short haired blonde girl does not kiss all the men but just the young attractive ones (it seems).
A couple is seen walking through the tourist village holding hands. People sleep in Polynesian type straw huts "ideal for the warm nights". There are several shots of the huts. People are seen using beads to pay for drinks so they do not have to carry money to the beach. Succession of shots of people sunbathing, most are good looking girls (what else?!). Girls are seen taking showers, running into the water, splashing, sunbathing... Sand beaches look fantastic. Polynesian style huts agree with the olive trees, sand and perfectly clear blue water - nature seems to be in harmony with tourists (at least it seems on this occasion). And, as all good thing come to an end, L/S of the plane taking off and flying back to reality.
Note: Tourists featured in this film are said to be French Venetians and British. It is possible that the village featured in film was occupied by French tourists, hence the name of the film. If not, it is a puzzle.
