  • The man featured here is (William) Leefe Robinson VC. Later in 1917 he was captured by the Germans - although he survived the war, he sadly died on 31 December 1918 of Spanish Flu.

  • Much of this footage also features in clip 1856.06. That clip dates the film as being from 1916, rather than 1917. Information in that clip lists the location as being Romford, Essex.
