Fire on training ship Wellesley, of the Wellesley Nautical School. The ship, originally HMS Boscawen, was moored on the River Tyne at North Shields. Clip shows destruction of ship by fire on 11 March 1914.

Disasters. Ship Wellesley on fire. Smoke pouring out of ship (looks like and old fashioned warship), smaller boat in FG moving to rt.. Same; w/ more smoke; Pan on ship (looks like another ship is on fire in BG); Burning ship; w/ rowboats; fireboat in FG. Rescue. Another shot of fire-fighters on small boat aiming hose at the Wellesley. Another shot of smoke pouring from the ship. Then of smaller boat passing to rt. (this is actually beginning of the first shot)- probably moving into position to fight the fire. As small boat passes; can see the flames from the burning ship Remains of ship ? w/ a bit of smoke still coming from it.
