Milburn centres and Len White shoots and scores. LV. Crowd. LV. Other end, York attack. Billy Fenton chasing ball on wing, centres. Simpson only partially clears and a York player slams at empty goal but ball is blocked by Newcastle defender. CU. Crowd cheering. LV. Billy Hughes takes corner. SV. Hughes takes corner. Ron Batty makes flying header to clear. Ball is sent back into Newcastle goal area. It comes across goal and Fenton just fails to connect. Ball trickles past post. Fenton disgusted. STV. Crowd. SCU Crowd. Half time score Newcastle 1, York City 0. STV. York still pressing. Sid Storey centres. Ron Spence who is up in attack worries Simpson. Simpson falls, but is up in time to deal with high lob. Clears. LV Stewart, York centre half, leaps for high ball and collides with Vic Keeble. Both go down, but Alan Stewart has to be carried off for most of second half. SCU Crowd. LV Newcastle attacking, but York, even minus Stewart, hang on resolutely. SV Crowd. LV Last minute of game. Bobby Mitchell, mainspring of Newcastle attacks, centres. Keeble rushes in and chests the ball home. Final score Newcastle 2, York City 0. Newcastle is meeting Manchester City at Wembley for Cup final.
