Jackie Milburn teaming up with Broadis. SV. Broadis closely marked by Davies looses possession and Kelly is able to nip in and clear up field. GV. Crowd. Half time no score. LV. Jackie Milburn making a typical burst between two defenders, he overruns the ball but a speedy slide tackle sends the ball out to Mitchell. Mitchell cleverly beats a defender dribbles in towards goal but his centre is too close to the goal. SV. Wheeler picking from air and clearing up field. LV. Huddersfield making progress up the left wing but Casey and Scoular the Newcastle halves bring him to a stop. CU. Man in crowd. SV. Huddersfield now try to pierce the Newcastle defence from the right wing through Hobson. He rounds Casey and centres. SV. Newcastle's tightly packed defence dealing comfortably with the situation. Simpson finally punching clear CU. Scoular running through with the ball, he sends a well controlled pass through to White, White clears. SV. Wheeler punching clear. CU. Man in crowd watching. Loose end of full time - no score. SV. Newcastle still attacking the same goal as extra time starts. Ball scrambled behind for a corner. SV. Crowd. LV. White taking a corner, Wheeler punches out, but Mitchell lobes it back into goal to score Newcastle's first. Pan, excited Newcastle players. SV. Crowd cheering. End of first half extra time. LV. Mitchell dribbling through the Huddersfield defence. SV. Mitchell crosses the ball and Keeble shoots it into the net. LV. Newcastle players congratulate. Final score 2-0 for Newcastle.
