Note: Pathé records cinema release date for clip as 06/04/1939, but it is most likely a typo - the game dates from 1936.

"jamied" has left a comment on the clip to identify the following: The scorer of the England goal is George Camsell. The scorer of the Scotland penalty is Tommy Walker. This 1-1 result won the British Home Championship for Scotland.

This clip's given year of 1939 is incorrect - the game was played on 4 April 1936.

The scorer of the England goal is George Camsell.

The scorer of the Scotland penalty is Tommy Walker.

This 1-1 result won the British Home Championship for Scotland.

I've dug out some confirmation that the date of this game is 1936, rather than 1939.

On the attached info for Tommy Walker, under the heading "Scotland", you'll find mention of the penalty he scores in this clip. In the grid below it is listed the date of 4 April 1936........

    mmy_Walker_(footballer_born_1915)

Just in case that date was wrong, I've done some further research, the result of which confirms that the year couldn't possibly be 1939.........

At 00:33 you'll hear the commentator refer to the England goalkeeper, Ted Sagar. This attachment shows that Sagar's brief England career ended in 1936.....

At 00:41, we hear the name of Cliff Bastin. His England career ended in 1938.....

The goalscorer George Camsell, mentioned at 00:45, also made his last England appearance in 1936.....
