Retired army officer Michael Prynn repairs birds eggs as a hobby. M/S of Mr Prynn looking carefully at one of the eggs. He turns it in his hands. C/U of the egg which is broken in two. He carefully fits it together. It is a blue guillemot's egg. A drawer is opened - this contains broken pieces of eggshell which may match the small hole in the egg. Colonel Prynn selects a box and takes out a piece of shell with tweezers. He looks through a magnifying glass to aid him in cutting the piece to a precise shape. C/U of the operation seen through the magnifying glass.
A special glue is used (secret recipe) to glue the small piece into the broken egg shell. Various shots of this procedure. C/U of the shell being repaired. The aim is to make it impossible to detect with the naked eye where a shell has been mended. Once this shell is finished it will even fool a guillemot!
