    Intertitle: "DUKE of YORK attends Rally of the Boy Scouts Association".

    M/S of the Duke (Prince Albert, later George VI) , in military uniform, with two army officers. They are walking between a crowd of onlookers and a troop of soldiers standing to attention. M/S of the Duke and his companions walking up and down, inspecting the soldiers. M/S of several men and women in ceremonial robes coming out of the entrance to a civic building followed the Duke - who salutes - and the Mayor.

    M/S of the Duke, dressed in civilian clothes, coming out of a very old building. He shakes hands with several dignitaries waiting outside, before posing for a photograph. Various shots of the Duke inspecting battalions of boy scouts and soldiers, he stops to shake hands with one female Scout Leader. Various shots of the Duke chatting with dignitaries outside an old mansion. A middle aged woman in a large hat makes a speech. M/S of the Duke making a speech.

    Various shots of the lady in the hat showing the Duke around a fete. C/U of two giggly young flappers pinning a carnation on to an old sailor. M/S of a group of ladies under some awnings, they hold a sign - 'Dartford Stall'. C/U of the old sailor shaking hands with a man in a boater. M/S of the Duke throwing sponges at a man - one of the fetes many attractions!

    Note: on Pathe Master tape *PM0216* at 01:25:32 on the timecode there is a second, shorter version of the story, starting directly after the first version. Short item has more C/Us of Prince, various shots of scouts cheering and waving flags - otherwise similar to long version. AH 2000.
