  • Description

"And those reptiles, scientifically known as Varanus Komodoensis, certainly do resemble the fabulous dragons." High angle shot of two of the lizards in a zoo enclosure. Various shots of the lizards.

"They belong to a Malay family 1,000,000 years old, and eat spring chickens." One of the lizards walks towards the camera flicking its tongue in and out. "The dinosaur's 2nd cousins - claw-footed, sabre-toothed, 9 feet long and quick-tempered." C/U of two lizards. Someone off screen is prodding one with a stick to make it move. C/U of head of one of the lizards, it is resting its head on the back of another.

Note: leader and paper records state that this is a Pathe Sound Pictorial item but there is no sound. Main title states "Pathe Pictorial" so perhaps this silent version was also produced in sound for the PSP.

10 telling images selected from British Pathé's extensive WWI footage. 'The war to end all wars' was a war without parallel: over 70 million military personnel were involved and over 17 million people died.

Verbal warfare at its best. Here are some of history's greatest retorts and snarling insults. These people certainly didn't mince their words!
