The aircraft shown is a Douglas D-558-II Skyrocket. Only 3 were ever built.
Although he's referred to by the commentator as Scotty Crossfield, that name produces barely any Internet search results (bar this one!). It seems that he was instead known simply as Scott Crossfield, for which thousands of results can be found.
