    (1) HMS NEW ZEALAND (2) SUBMARINE 'DEUTSCHLAND' IN LONDON c.1919

    (Item title reads: 'London, The Deutschland in the Thames, opened to the
    public by Mr Macnamara on behalf of the King's Fund for Sailors'. Majority of clip is however of HMS New Zealand in Portsmouth Harbour prior to departure for Admiral Sir John Jellicoe's cruise to Dominion countries in Feb 1919. Only final scene has direct association with Deutschland.)

    Opening scene - unknown location but may be associated with Deutschland. Cars pull up in rain, doors opened by policeman. Naval officers and civilians alight.

    Cut to shot of stern of HMS NEW ZEALAND. HMS VICTORY (?) in distant haze. View of quartedeck of HMS NEW ZEALAND. New Zealand Coat of Arms and Battle Honour boards on bulkhead. Sailor walking towards camera, others crossing in front. Adm Sir John Jellicoe walking along wharf, NEW

    Intertitle: 'Mr Bottomley, who organised the Exhibition, on deck'

    Cut to another scene on board NEW ZEALAND. Adm Jellicoe comes aboard, accompanied by Captain Oliver E Leggett, commanding NEW ZEALAND.
    Cut to wharf again, Adm Jellicoe accompanied by other officers reading a document then proceeding on to ship.

    Cut to group standing in conning tower of submarine DEUTSCHLAND. May include Mr Horatio Bottomley, MP for Hackney South, standing at top left. Dr
    Thomas James Macnamara, Parliamentary & Financial Secretary to the
    Admiralty (poss) addressing group.
