    Various footage of Officers of Her Majesty's Customs and Excise at work.

    They are at work in the London Docks. They check records then slice open an Edam cheese to check that it really is a cheese! Casks of alcohol are checked. Measurements are chalked on the casks of rum then some of the alcohol is decanted into a beaker for testing. The strength or proof of the rum is checked.
