Gurning contest. Various elderly men step up to pull funny faces and the crowds laugh. There are some pretty good ones. The arm of the winner is held aloft.
A wrestling match is held in a field. Good sound effects over the top, Pathe sound man had fun with this one.
Pipe smoking contest. A line of men puff away on their pipes trying to be the first to smoke all the tobacco. Good C/Us of the men smoking away. The winner has his arm held up.
A race is run through the town. We see the winner crossing the line.
Dog racing. Bets are taken for a "hound trailing" race. C/Us of some of the competitors. A trail is set and the dogs are set off to follow the scent. Various shots of the dogs racing through the countryside with their owners encouraging them on. One of the dogs can't get through a wooden fence and eventually jumps over the top. Various shots of the dogs as they reach the end of the trail.
