M. Paul Poiret the famous fashion creator presents a new "Empire coiffure" and proposes that next year it may be popular throughout the world. He takes a hat off one of the European women and shows his new style. He then speaks to the African women about the style and shakes hands with one of them. The African women are then shown some European fashions - one of the women laughs, the others looks very serious - looks to me like they have been told to look serious. The contrast between the styles of dress is quite apparent.
