  • The first five lines of the main body of the shots list is somewhat topsy-turvy. So I'll re-identify the comings and goings......

Arriving at 00:26 are Jean Simmons and Stewart Granger.

Arriving at 00:38 is Anna Neagle.

Arriving at 00:42 is Shelley Winters.

    At 00:53, Jane Russell arrives.

At 01:03 we see Jack Hawkins, talking to Michael Redgrave.

At 01:11, Peter Ustinov wanders around.

At 01:17 John Mills arrives with his wife Mary Hayley Bell, (replacing the current shot listing of "Jack Warner and wife Mary Bell". Jack Warner does not appear at all in the clip).

At 01:44 we see Peter Finch.

At 01:46 we see CJ Latta and his wife.

At 01:52 we see J Arthur Rank and Robert Clark.

Freddie Mills, Janette Scott and Susan Stephens are listed as appearing, but I can't see any of them.

Things improve from the words "The Royal arrival" onwards.

  • "Valentine Cortesa" should read Valentina Cortese.

At 04:39 we see Ronald Shiner.

"The Queen receives flowers" - they're given to her by Nicholas Hawkins, son of the actor Jack Hawkins.

The very same footage of the Royal Film Performance, with a commentary, can be seen in clip 497.06.

From 05:34, until the end of the clip at 10:20, all the other material is completely unrelated to the Royal Film Performance.
