    M/S of coalman delivering sack of coal at private house. Various shots of a woman demonstrating the economical way to have a coal fire; she clears the grate, sorts the ashes from the clinker in the garden and then lights the fire using rolled paper as kindling and reuses the salvaged ashes.

    M/S of family eating breakfast in kitchen, a large question mark has been superimposed over it. Narrator suggests: "Why not have breakfast in the kitchen, it's warmer in the mornings than the sitting-room and you don't have to light another fire".
