Amendment December 2014: A visitor to the site has written in with the following information. Churchill is joined by Group Captain Arthur Donaldson (right) and Squadron Leader Neville Duke (middle) in shot 16 and 17. In 1951, Duke commanded No 615 (County of Surrey) Squadron, RAuxAF, whose Honorary Air Commodore was Winston Churchill – hence the visit by Churchill to RAF Biggin Hill on 21st June 1951 when Arthur Donaldson (then a Wing Commander) was the Station Commander.

Arthur Donaldson was one of three brothers who served in the RAF during WW2. His brother Teddy Donaldson broke the World Air Speed Record in a Gloster Meteor on 7th September 1946. On 7th September 1953, Neville Duke broke the World Air Speed Record in a Hawker Hunter and awarded an OBE for his contribution to supersonic flight.
