Britain's Prime Minister Mr Winston Churchill in black top hat and accompanied by his wife and daughters Mary and Sarah, drives in open landau to the Guildhall. Several shots of the inside of the Guildhall. Mr Churchill rises to make speech. He says: "Of all the wars that we have waged in the long continuity of our history, there has never been one that more truly united the entire British nation and British race throughout the world, than this present fearful struggle for the freedom and progress of mankind". He goes on: "against the greedy might of Hitler, with the greedy Italian at his tail..."
He talks about the united allies of the world. He then says that if the war in Europe should end, every British effort would be switched to fight the Japanese in the Pacific. He refers to Hitler's words of two years ago when he said he would "rub out" the cities of Britain. He admits certain losses of life and property but then goes on to say that "those who have sowed the wind, are reaping the whirlwind". He then says that "when the blow will fall and what will be its weight at each point, it is no part of our business to relieve their anxiety or their uncertainty".
