    Location of events unknown, probably Cornwall.

    Shot of a clay mountain with a quarry at the foot. A shot of the quarry fades into a graphic to illustrate which area of the ground will be quarried for the clay.

    Various shots of industrial processes involved in obtaining the clay. Water from large hoses is pumped on to the ground. Another graphic illustration lists the various elements which make up the hillside. The water is shown trickling down the hillside. Intertitle reads: "Clay water is pumped to sand pits". Shots of the water on its journey.

    Graphic to show which elements are extracted to leave the clay. Intertitle reads: "Waste sand is removed to dumps". Men working on the clays shovelling sand. Moving large barrows filled with sand. Conveyor belt to take the sand away up a steep hillside. Pipes snaking up the hillside. A large area of water, milky water being added to it. Fine particles are extracted from the water. Intertitle reads: "In settling pits for about 16 hours". More shots of industrial process and graphics explaining what is happening. Intertitle reads: "Drawn to kiln tanks". The water is pumped into a filter press. Intertitle reads: "Pumped into filter press". Interior of building where water is extracted under high pressure. Graphic of clay being compressed to remove the water.

    The clay is now formed into sheets. It is removed for drying on a trolley. Intertitle reads: "Removed for drying". Clay tipped off trolley and broken up by two men with large hoes. Intertitle reads: "Stored and despatched". After the clay has dried it is moved by men with shovels then transported in a mechanical digger.
