  • A sports car race with a proper old-style Le Mans start. Drivers must erect the hood before setting off and can only lower it after the first stop.

    Bentleys, Bugattis, Lea Francis, Rileys, etc. Worth millions now and not exactly cheap then!

  • Probably the Essex Motor Club 6-Hour Endurance Race on 12th May 1928
    (the only long distance race for touring cars at Brooklands that year).
