One wears a suit and hat, the other a golfing type outfit (trousers tucked into fair isle socks) - the latter smokes a pipe. They fool around a bit - comedy business. They then take their jackets off. One tells the other off for smoking, pointing at the camera. They both take a deep breath then blow out their cheeks at the camera.
"Now for the paint and on with the Motley." Wearing funny bloomers, the Brothers put white towels around their waists and start powdering their faces. C/U of the two of them putting on special hats and white make up. One smokes as he is making up. "Ladies aren't the only ones to use powder - but not like this!" They put lots of powder over their make up. One smokes a cigar, blowing smoke in his brother's face. "We've heard of red noses taking years to make - and costing fortunes - but not these - !" The brothers paint red make up on their noses (presumably red - film is black and white!) The fix pom poms to the tops of their heads - cute. They smile at each other. One blows smoke in the other's face.
"Ten minutes and one cigar later - " They are now in full costume. High angle shot of them "backstage" dancing around preparing to go on. L/S of them in the Pathe studio doing quite a funny little routine.
