  • "R M Bristo" should read T R M Bristow.

    "A E Silargi" should E A Szilagyi.

"D J Kingsford" is wrongly announced by the voiceover man, it should be D G Kingsford (as is evident from the initials on the rower's jumper). He was killed in action during WWII.

    "M P Lonhan" should read M P Lonnon.

J H T Wilson later won a Gold Medal for Great Britain in the 1948 Olympics.

W G R M Laurie is the father of actor Hugh Laurie.

  • That's a really great help - interesting to know about Hugh Laurie's father.

On June 4 1913, suffragette Emily Wilding Davison made her way in to the history books when she fell under the hooves of George V’s horse at the Epsom Derby. But was it intentional?
