British Women, German by marriage, en route to Germany - Part 1.
Location of events unknown - British port.
Film is of women and children boarding a British ship. Opens with women standing about; a British soldier and sailors walk past. Very brief CU sailor. Then; some military men sitting on the boat; with some small kids; a little girl with blonde curls in FG; pan across sailors posing; and sitting on the left one man in civilian suit. Shot of some of the women and 3 men posing; sitting on some part of the boat . Back to the men in chairs; there is also a young boy in sailor suit.
Women coming up ramp to ship; carrying bags or suitcases. Back to shot of women on deck. An Army man and the civilian man sit together on deck; each writing something. Army and Navy officers shake hands. More women; children; coming on board; with baggage. Cute kids Sailors pose for picture; larking about; pushing. More of officers. More kids & women with suitcases.
It isn't clear if they are being deported or going of their own free will; one odd thing about it is that the people in this footage; both the women and the sailors; seem fairly cheerful and friendly and happy to be going wherever they are bound. Footage could be used as refugees being saved. Deportees or refugees? Travel caused by war; displaced persons.
