Industries of British Guiana. Coconut palms. A young boy climbs up the trunk of a tree. He climbs up just using his hands and feet (no ropes or ladders). Once he is at the top he knocks down coconuts. The coconuts are then collected from the ground and put into sacks. Husks are taken off the coconuts. C/U of the coconut being bashed down upon a sharp instrument. They are loaded onto a cart pulled by oxen. Some of the coconuts are shelled and broken up. We see seated women breaking up the coconuts. Dried coconut is called Copra. Women and children walk on the coconut in bare feet to break it up (looks like it could be painful). Sacks of coconuts and Copra are loaded on to a train.
