    Reel 2.

Unedited material. An office desk. Book visible with illustration of an electricity pylon and the title: "The Grid". Camera pans across desk to reveal man sitting at desk sketching something. He looks at the camera and speaks (no sound.) C/U of man speaking. Interior of a power station. Men at work. C/U of machinery. Aerial shot of power station by river (Thames?) probably Kingston-on-Thames. Shot of pilot. Other aerial shots of the power station. Closer views, again from the air. Shots of the power station from the ground.

Interior of power station - opening ceremony. Top shot showing crowds of people gathered. Top shot of interior of station. Crowds watch royal visitors pass by (not seen clearly). Top shots of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth being escorted around the interior. Closer shots of King and Queen descending a staircase inside power station. King and Queen are given tour of interior.

Aerial shots. Shots from the ground. Construction site - power station being built. Towers of station. Interior top shots. King and Queen and local dignitaries. Exterior. King and Queen are introduced to a group of men in what look like motorised bath chairs. The Queen looks at a large stone on a plinth - probably an old cornerstone, possibly of a church? The Queen circulates and talks to various people including a woman in military uniform.
