Commentary explains that Bristol was one of the busiest wine ports in the world, and is still one of the major players in the wine and spirits industry especially sherry... Cut to pub where Sherry is on tap. Pub scenes and the drinkers (a cellar style pub with people sitting on barrels) (Sync sound as the drinkers chat). Cut to aerial views and general views of Bristol: various buildings, houses and office blocks (old and modern), a group of students, Queens Square, a church on a grassy hill, a gold unicorn statue, the Council House, a group of bluecoat boys from Queen Elizabeth's Hosiptal walking towards the mediaeval Cathedral, cricketers and hose riders, The Lord Mayors coach and horse parade. CU the Mayor inside his coach. Police on horseback line the route. The Mayor and Judges alight from the carriage in full robes, watched by a crowd as they proceed into the Civic Chapel for the ceremony of the opening of the Assizes. A wall of highly decorated swords. Cut to Ships Captain in discussion with several men onboard ship. Vies of various ships in dock as they sail down the river. The men look at a map of the dock area. Aerial view the mouth of the Avon. Dockside workers. Aerial view down the Channel and a ship going under the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Cargo ships at sea.
