M/S of some donkeys in a pen eating hay, a small boy runs up to them and climbs up the side to get a better view. C/U of the boy's profile, he is Graham Barnett aged 5, he grabs a cowboy hat from the side of the pen and puts it on. M/S from behind the donkeys of Graham running round and opening the door to the pen, he goes in and herds the donkeys to one side. M/S of Graham hitting the donkeys with a stick.

L/S of a farmyard, the donkeys come out of the gate and the instructor Arthur Williams aged 30 wearing a flat cap, closes the gate behind them, Graham is stood by him. M/S following a donkey across the yard, some stables are visible in the background. M/S of the donkeys milling about, Arthur grabs hold of one called Garryowen and lifts Graham onto its back, it sets off at a trot and the camera follows it.

L/S of Arthur grabbing a donkey for Tony to ride, he just manages to get on but the donkey runs away and he falls off. M/S of Arthur and Tony chasing the donkey, Arthur catches it and holds it steady while Tony climbs on. M/S of the donkey bucking and Tony falling off again. This is to demonstrate how difficult it is and how Graham has a special talent. Graham is riding around in the background.

M/S of Arthur's sister Gladys leading a big white horse called Jahan up to him, he takes the reins and gives them to Graham. Gladys walks away from the horse.
