Blazing Barrels 1966
Description
Ottery St Mary, Devon.
In this village on Guy Fawkes day we see the local custom of men and boys wearing large mittens and running through the streets with a blazing barrel of tar! At dusk, boys carry small blazing barrels. It looks like a kind of a relay race. A crowd stands around watching....
