Elevated shot of the speakers platform at the conference. United Kingdom delegate Ernest Bevin is called to the podium and he makes a speech about the cost of the United Nations, the new atomic weapons. He talks of the work of scientists being encouraged for the benefit of mankind while devising such control to make impossible the use (of the weapons) for destruction.

He then speaks of entering negotiations to place Tanganikya, the Cameroons and Togoland under trusteeship system. Regarding Transjordan, Bevin says Britain is intending to take steps to establish the territory as a sovereign independent state.
