    Beating the Bounds of London.

    Boys from upper-class educational institution; along w/ schoolmasters and various others; engage in a bizarre tradition. Procession of these through streets; led by man carrying a long pole w/ an orb w/ cross on top. Boys wear white smocks like altar boys and academic black mortarboard hats. They carry long strips of birch or cane. In next scene the boys are hitting these strips against the wall of a bank. Then against another wall. Procession continues; down steps. Boys on a tennis court; poking the long sticks into a hole at side of court, and next; the gang floats along in a boat poking the silly things in the water. Wacky; strange; customs; public schools; children;
