    Isleworth, Middlesex.

M/S of a man observing another man's cheek through a microscope. Several shots of man's cheek being observed. In Isleworth, Middlesex, at a razor blade manufacturer, scientists are researching all aspects of shaving, with plans to make shaving more attractive or at least easier. Everything is monitored: hair growth, shaving techniques, speed, razor movements etc. All findings are recorded and analysed.

C/U shot of the enlarged segment of skin. One can see the beard growing. Voiceover talks about the history of shaving. Several shots of complex equipment being prepared and used to monitor shaving. Complex machine with slow-motion camera, large magnifying glass and razor attached is used for shaving. C/U shot of a man getting his cheek close to the razor. Machine starts shaving him while a man on the other side of machine observes it.

C/U shot of a man shaving 'traditionally' (using a razor himself). Camera travels down his arm to reveal wired construction attached to it. This device counts how many strokes are done per shave. M/S of the man from a previous shot and another man divided by a long black curtain. A man behind the curtain stands in front of a see-through mirror and some other equipment. M/S of a mirror. C/U shot of a man shaving. M/S of the other man monitoring. C/U shot of a man washing and drying his face.

Several shots of people shaving and others observing and gathering data.

Note: Anther story from the Research Centre in Isleworth called "Hair Research" can be found in CP 113.
