  • Description

    Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

Nice footage of a group of artists creating large decorative banners. Various shots of Mr Herbert Sharp and four other artists painting silk banners with oils and decorating them with gold and silver leaf. Nice shots of the banners and the artists at work.

Narrator speaks of the history of banners - the team turn out 150 to 200 per year. Some have religious themes, others are merely decorative. Various banners are seen in C/U. They are rather beautiful. The association, lodge or committee concerned design the banners then Mr Sharp and his team execute the design.
