  • Description

Titles read: "AUSTRALIAN JOINS US ARMY".

    Australia.

Various shots of a little terrier puppy (could be a long-haired Jack Russell puppy) being inaugurated into the American army as the mascot of a US military camp. He is welcomed at the first Australian to join the American army. "Private Buddy Barker" is very cute and is made to wear a little cape and army hat, then is handed his leave pass.

Several shots of Buddy on a lead, being taken for a walk around a city. He has a quick drink of water in a bar, then plays with another little pup in a park. Two American soldiers chat to two girls, one of whom owns the other dog. The four walk off together with the dogs.

Note: there are a few slight jumps in the film, where frames have been removed because of decomposition. Print version has also been transferred which contains the missing microseconds; see separate record.

The great politician and orator Winston Churchill left behind a sea of humourous quips and discerning quotes. We remember some of his finest epigrams and witty ripostes.
