Dr. Verwoerd being escorted to his seat on platform. GV. Pan from crowd to platform. LS. Two men struggling on platform - One is David Pratt. CU. Cameraman. MS. Dr. Verwoerd on floor holding his head with blood pouring down his face, he is being held by another man who is shouting to photographers to keep away, and finally he throws a glass water jug at them (Verwoerd is hit by two 22 calibre bullets fired at close range). MS. Side view, Mr. David Pratt (a wealthy cattle farmer who was acting as an official at the Cattle Show), the would-be assassinator, being escorted away by police. MS. Dr. Verwoerd having blood wiped from his face. Various shots, as stretcher is brought and Dr. Verwoerd is carried away.
