    "CU of winner - possibly an athlete called Woodeson" - the athlete's name is Sydney Wooderson.

    What we see here is footage of Wooderson winning the 3-mile race in the AAA Championships in 1946 - footage of him after wining this race can be seen in clip 2325.04.

    "one runner catches up with the leader and overtakes him to win the race" - that's Wooderson overtaking the Dutchman Willem Slijkhuis .
