    Athletics meeting in Edinburgh, Scotland. Full titles read: "PROFESSIONAL PEDESTRIAN GALA. Large crowds see fast times 'put up' Britain's best professional runners in Powderhall Sprint and Marathon."

    Intertitle reads ".. R . Hunter of Bathgate who is only 16 years old wins 10 mile Marathon in 50m 47 sec." M/S roadside view of marathon runners in shorts passing by, there is a small gathering of people on the roadside. Some buildings are visible in the background including a large chimney.

    M/S Tracked view various runners, some wearing gloves pass from left to right. A large crowd watches in the background from behind what looks to be a low wooden fence.

    M/S Various shots of athletes preparing for a race (presumably the 100 metre sprint). One athlete jogs on the spot, whilst we see another dressing down to his shorts and T-shirt. Various officials can also be seen preparing the track for the race.

    M/S The athletes walk forward to the the starting line (their shirts are numbered) and get on their marks An official stands in the background he raises the starting pistol. A puff of smoke as the pistol is fired signals the start of the race. The athletes all spring into action.
