    Ascension Island - Rocket Tracking Base.

    VS of giant dish aerials at the Ascension Island space tracking station., which is being used in the Gemini space programme. CU Paper backed book,with "Operations Directive, Project Gemini Orbital and Network Support". printed across cover. Various Shots of American space engineers seated at the electronic equipment and in front of the space flight charts. Two GV's across rugged hilly bleak country on the Island, no houses or buildings visible. MS. American and British flags flying from the tracking station mast. MS Engineers erecting a small pylon which carries a small single bar aerial. CU Poster depicting an American rocket with Five, Four, Three, Two, One printed alongside diagram. High angle GV of small but well marked landing strip on the Island. VS two antique fire fighting appliances which are displayed at side of road. GV Church. CU Church foundation stone inscribed "Laid 6th Sept 1843 by Mrs Dwyer, wife of the Commandant". GV Int. of the small empty church. GV Small hospital ward where two male patients are sitting up in bed. VS Local workmen supervised by American or British engineers digging foundations and trenches in a field. High angle GV of the huts and other temporary looking buildings which make up the small settlement on the island.
