    Huge appeal board reading: "Help to complete the Middlesex still required �85,675" is taken off the building - nurses looking on. Nurses come and take the numbers off the board and hold it in their hands forming the same number.

    Mr Meyerstein of Dunton Green, Kent, has bought this appeal board for �85,675 - the exact money needed to close the reconstruction fund. Pan down the Middlesex Hospital.

    "Mr Meyerstein" is Edward Meyerstein, who was a retired stockbroker. He also kindly made other substantial donations to the hospital.
